These terms apply solely to the free public verification service at paulinai.dev/check/. They are not general terms for consulting, software licences, projects or the operation of a PaulinAI Hub.
1. Provider and purpose
The provider is High-Definition Development & Networks GmbH, Kappl 14, 6677 Schattwald, Austria. The service performs a technical check for a machine-readable PaulinAI label in an image file.
It checks only whether the deployed detector can recognise the relevant label. It does not assess factual correctness, authenticity, provenance, authorship or the legal permissibility of the visible content.
2. Supported files
The public service currently supports PNG, JPEG and WebP image files up to 15 MB. It does not currently provide a complete and reliable check for video, audio or text content.
Videos are not assessed merely from a single frame. Until complete video verification is available, video files are rejected rather than represented as verified.
3. Meaning of the result
“PaulinAI label detected” means that the technical detector recognised a PaulinAI label at the time of the check. It says nothing about factual accuracy, whether the content has remained unchanged or whether its use is lawful.
“No PaulinAI label detected” is expressly not proof that PaulinAI was not used. Cropping, rotation, screenshots, resizing, renewed compression or other modifications can impair or remove a detectable label.
An error means that no usable check was completed, for example because of the format, file size, a technical fault or an access restriction.
4. Permitted use
The service may be used for lawful checks. Anyone uploading a file must be authorised to do so and should not transmit content that is unnecessary for the check.
The following are prohibited in particular:
- automated bulk requests outside an expressly agreed interface,
- bypassing size, security or access restrictions,
- transmitting malware or manipulated files in order to attack the service,
- using results to make knowingly misleading claims, and
- impairing availability for other users.
5. Privacy and confidentiality
The file is processed only for the requested check, is not used for advertising or AI training and is not permanently retained by the verification service. The verification page does not load analytics or marketing services.
Technically required connection and security data may be processed independently of the file content. See the privacy policy for details. Confidential or particularly sensitive content should be uploaded only where this is necessary and lawful.
6. Availability and changes
The service is provided free of charge. Continuous availability or a specific response time is not guaranteed. Maintenance, security measures, technical faults or changes to the labelling method may temporarily limit availability.
Supported formats, limits and technical processes may be changed where required for security, compatibility or legal requirements. The version published here applies to use of the public service.
7. Liability
Mandatory statutory liability rules apply. The service provides a technical detection result, not a guarantee of provenance, authenticity or legal evidential value. Decisions with legal, economic or personal consequences must not be based solely on a verification result.
8. Contact and applicable law
Questions can be sent to [email protected]. Austrian law applies, subject to mandatory consumer-protection and conflict-of-law provisions.
